DOR TO BUILD ACCESS ROAD FOR ARUN III
Meanwhile, an agreement has been signed between the Department of Roads (DoR) and SJVN Arun-3 Development Company, the developer of Arun III Hydropower Project, to build an access road to the project site of the 900-megawatt capacity project. As per the agreement, DoR will have to build 28.69 km road from Chhyankuti to Diding of Sankhuwasabha within 18 months. Joint Secretary at Department of Roads Gopal Prasad Sigdel said the road will be built with funding of the company. “The road will open up economic activities along the route,” said Sigdel.
Investment Board Nepal has said that road is being built with 'model community welfare' principle, which is one of the nine principles included in the Project Development Agreement signed with Satlej Jal Vidhyut Nigam.
