Session 1: Developing Sustainable Infrastructure in Nepal:
In the context of post-pandemic sustainable recovery and alignment with global climate change, the Government is keen to develop sustainable infrastructure and recover better from the pandemic situation. This includes adopting green economic pathways, with innovative opportunities emerging on renewable energy using hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, energy efficiency, e-mobility, green hydrogen, etc. As we all are gearing towards net zero-emission and transitioning to a carbon-neutral economy, this session would discuss developing sustainable
infrastructure in Nepal and strengthening climate change adaptation and mitigation, getting access to climate finance, and enhancing international collaboration on developing green infrastructure.

Session 2: Developing and Managing PPP for Nepal’s Economic Development
The covid pandemic poses unprecedented challenges across the world. FDI flows are declining, and countries are adopting inward-looking strategies. Nevertheless, the pandemic also offers an opportunity to countries like Nepal for attracting FDI when the business enterprises are on the lookout for diversifying their investment amidst the growing uncertainty. PPP is emerging not only as a viable procurement strategy but also a vehicle for developing critical infrastructure in the developing countries. Nepal needs to be adapted to PPP process for accelerating economic
development. In such a context, the session will discuss how best Nepal can mobilize PPP investment to develop and construct infrastructure projects in Nepal.
