Venture Waste to Energy Pvt. Ltd., a solid waste management project, was developed to process organic waste as an energy source through an integrated solution-based technology to effectively treat organic Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) by integrating it with waste water treatment technology. The project cost, estimated at NPR 248.5 million, will be financed by domestic investors. The project is located in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City in Province 1. The project plans to manage a total of 30 tons of organic waste per day by applying Anaerobic Digestion (Biogas) technology. A tripartite concession agreement with the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Venture Waste to Energy Pvt. Ltd., and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City was signed in 2017 to implement the project. As per the Investment Board Nepal Act, 2011, IBN granted investment approval to Venture Waste to Energy Pvt. Ltd. to invest in the project in August 2017.
