Mr. Sushil Gyewali
CEO, Investment Board Nepal
Mr. Sushil Gyewali is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board of Nepal (IBN), an organization that plays a crucial role in promoting economic development by creating an investment-friendly environment and mobilizing both domestic and foreign investments.
Before his current role, Mr. Gyewali served as the Chief Executive Officer of Nepal's National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating April 2015 earthquake, which severely impacted the central hilly region of Nepal. Since his appointment on 16 August 2018, he successfully led and completed the government’s reconstruction initiatives, achieving significant and remarkable progress in the country.
Before joining the NRA, Mr. Gyewali served as the Executive Director of the Town Development Fund (TDF) for nearly six years. During his tenure, he played a key role in increasing financial and technical assistance to municipalities for developing their infrastructure projects.
Additionally, he has served as the Executive Secretary of the Municipal Association of Nepal (MUAN), where he contributed his expertise in advocating for local governments in the new federal constitution of Nepal.
With 28 years of experience in local governance, planning, urban development and infrastructure financing, Mr. Gyewali is a recognized expert in policy formation, as well as the planning, financing and implementation of development projects. He holds a master’s degree in Urban Planning from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
